All units of the José de Mello Saúde group have received the highest scores in the second 2013 report from the National System of Health Quality Assessment [Sistema Nacional de Avaliação em Saúde – SINAS], released last week by the Portuguese Health Regulation Authority [Entidade Reguladora da Saúde – ERS].
Therefore, the units that were awarded with five stars (Clinical Excellence, Patient Safety, Facilities and Comfort, Focus on the Patient and Customer Satisfaction) are: hospital CUF Infante Santo, hospital CUF Descobertas, hospital CUF Porto, Hospital de Braga, Hospital Vila Franca de Xira, clínica CUF Cascais and Hospital CUF Torres Vedras.
In the second level of assessment for Clinical Excellence, we should mention the units that were awarded the highest scores (three stars): Hospital de Braga (Arterial Revascularization – the only hospital in the country that has been awarded this score, Colon Surgery and acute Myocardial Infarction), Hospital de Braga (Hysterectomies, Birth and Pre-birth care, and Hip and Knee Arthoplasty) and clínica CUF Cascais (Outpatient Surgery).
These results confirm that José de Mello Saúde’s clinical project has been strengthened. This clinical project is focused on the reinforcement of Quality as a distinctive indicator.
